Parents are often the first to sense when something about their child’s emotional world feels unsettled. In many North Atlanta families, children experience significant pressure related to school expectations, social dynamics, or their own internal tendencies toward perfectionism. What begins as sensitivity or strong emotion can gradually become more difficult to manage.
At home, this may look like emotional outbursts, difficulty calming down after frustration, frequent worry about school or friendships, or resistance during transitions. Some children become easily overwhelmed, while others struggle with focus, attention, or behavior in ways that resemble ADHD symptoms. Even highly capable children can have difficulty managing big emotions when they don’t yet have the tools to process what they are experiencing.
For many parents, this creates a sense of uncertainty—wanting to support their child while also feeling unsure how to respond in a way that is both effective and sustainable.
